Ewan Aitken the alternative blog :-)

The alternative blog for Ewan Aitken which does not in any way purport to be the Leader of Edinburgh's Council. In fact we ask questions on what we see on his blog because if we ask them on his blog, he may delete them as he has a tendancy to do.

Ewan Aitken’s (edited) blog

Most people will now know of our NuLeader’s blog. Regular readers of the blog will also not that when people ask the really interesting questions, which the good reverend does not wish to answer, they are quickly deleted by the heavy handed councillor.

Indeed when questions over the Hippy Rev’s apparent collusion in covering up the loss of the £400,000 of taxpayers money and not forgetting the £188,000 of missing equipment, these questions were the victim of Aitken’s delete key.

So although the first post in the blog is titled “Standing up for Edinburgh” and carries the statement “As soon as I was elected I made it clear that standing up for Edinburgh was my first priority”, it is clear that the blog is really “Standing up for Oor Ewan” and covering his ass is really his first priority.

The next post in the blog is “This Blog’s Values” where he states:

Welcome to my Blog. Edinburgh Labour, in all that it does, is built on core values. Briefly stated, we want Edinburgh to be a city that is “prosperous, fair and well cared-for”.Of course, those values can mean different things to different people so, if you share those values and want to talk with me about them, then please do use this blog. I’d like to hear what you have to say. You certainly don’t have to be a Labour supporter or a Labour voter to take part in the debate. You might, of course , have other values and aspirations for this city - in which case, do join the discussion, but I am most unlikely to agree with you and you may find you gain a better hearing elsewhere!

All very nice Councillor Aitken. However, you don’t seem to realise that the majority of the population of the city don’t believe that the Labour party has any values left and surely the questions of £400,000 of taxpayers money should be included in those values. Surely, for Edinburgh to be “prosperous, fair and well cared-for” we have to make sure that the books are all in order. Over to you.
